Amazing

Love this game...

Best game of the genre?

Maybe!

Nearly flawless

This is what mobile games should be like. It is simple enough to pick up and play any time and complex enough to keep playing for hours. Not only that, but theres no "pay to win" nonsense involved. No IAP. No advertising. Buy the game and enjoy it without any harassing pop ups to get you to rate them or buy junk. The only thing I thought should have been different was experience gained should apply in battle in real time. Its kind of strange that we have to complete the battle to have experience applied. The gold gets added during battle, why not exp? Overall, one of the best iOS games Ive ever played. Great job! Please make more games :)

Super fun match 3 RPG

This game is really fun! The match 3 mechanic is great, and Ive really liked how well it fits with the Final Fantasy-like RPG. Everything about this game is excellent-from the characters and upgrading their equipment, to movement through the world, to the beautiful art. Ive already gotten many of hours of gameplay out of it, and there are several more islands I see to explore still. My $3 were very very well spent and I highly recommend it!!

Hard!

The debuffs during the final missions are INSANE and you only allow access to 4 items? Ive wasted a week trying to finish, no more time will I spend

This game should be emblematic of the match-3 genre.

I rarely buy apps at full price, but Penny Arcades recommendation was so complimentary I couldnt resist. Match-3s are susceptible to repetition and Hero Emblems does require some grind (especially early), but when I realized I could replay the big story stages endlessly, I found my time rewarded much more handsomely, as gold & exp gains scale with difficulty. The English localization isnt perfect, but I appreciate that the translator tried to capture the poetic quality of the original Chinese. These are small flaws in an otherwise exemplary game with a gorgeous soundtrack, snappy animations and a sweeping hand-drawn map.

First match 3 to hook me

This is the first match 3 game Ive played that really hooked me, and Ive played Bejeweled and Candy Crush. The story is light but entertaining, the combat makes match 3 mean something more than points or puzzles, which seems to be what I needed to really engage. My one complaint: Leave Trista alone!!

An otherwise good game ruined by free to play design flaws.

The core gameplay ideas in Here Emblems are solid, but unfortunately I cant recommend the game because it has been infected and ruined by grinding mechanics straight out of a free to play title. The game is not balanced at all for normal play progression and the player MUST grind to progress constantly. It feels exactly like a free to play game that has had the IAP removed. Avoid this one until and unless it gets rebalanced.

Match-3 RPG heaven

This game does a nice job balancing match-3 play with battle elements. The difficulty levels make it more accessible to casual players, and the exploration is fun. I hope the developers make a sequel with more puzzle and exploration mechanics!

The Most Fun I’ve Had On My iPad In A Long Time.

This game is not only super fun, but super addicting. I can’t seem to put it down! Everything about this game shines, and is challenging without getting completely unbeatable. AND NO IAP!!!!!! Thank god there is a fun game out there that is very well priced and has none of that nickel and dimeing you to death built in to make you shake your wallet upside down.

Too much burn

Not bad overall, but the entire game can be summed up in two types of battles. A: the initial round of mobs beats the crap out of you and you spend the entire fight in recovery mode, or B:the battles become a status effect marathon that you can ever seem to beat. Pain in the butt to play mid to late game. Good luck.

Frustrating

The game is repetitive and extremely difficult. Not many tools to increase power. In some cases you have to wander around for hours to get experience before moving forward with the story. I regretted spending my money here.

Great game but not for everyone

This is a match the stones game with the typical action rpg implementation done fairly well. Match stones that represent 1 of 4 heroes to defeat monsters to earn gold that you can use to upgrade your heroes or buy useful items like potions and what not. There are however only so many ways to present this genre so dont expect anything new here. The story is decent enough with meh writing but for the price you shouldnt expect an epic novel. True to its roots this game is a grind fest as you spend hour after hour earning gold to finally be able to beat that boss. This could be listed as a con but what else is there to do in this type of game? If you enjoy the mindless match games but yearn for a bit of strategy this is a must try.

Decent game

The game is a bit hard and youll have to grind to get some money and buy the more powerful stuff and thats fine by me.

Fantastic game!

Bejeweled meets Final a Fantasy with no micro transactions! Im a casual gamer on mobile yet I sank 35 hours into this game and loved every minute of it! Worth every penny, the story I cliche fantasy, but the graphics, music and art style is top notch; the gameplay is super fun and addicting. Yes, there is a bit of grinding, but its not terrible, especially when you take into consideration that the battles are basically a really fun game of "connect three". So instead of playing bejeweled over and over, play this instead and have some sense of progression at least :)

A bit of a grind but fun

In a genre dominated by free to play games, this title really stands out. Its challenging in places and pretty mindless in others. If you want a cute puzzle quest type game this is for you!

Great game!

Amazing game. I suggest playing on casual mode first because hardcore is VERY difficult. The difficulty did fluctuate a lot and there are some balance issues (shields ultimate that protects from statuses is amazing while the others are mediocre or situational). However, I think part of the fun of the game is discovering clever ways to beat it.

Love the game BUT...

Its extremely difficult. It goes from having fun to I want to break my phone in half! Enemies just do too much damage and they have a far more advantage than you. Just imagine physical attacks not working while they are pounding you with debuffs over and over again. All the while traps are being sprung on you and taking HUGE damage on just one hit. Even when you remove a debuff your attack/ heal doesnt trigger regardless if you get a 4 or higher connection. You lose all those blocks for nothing. There needs to be an update where you have the upper hand in these battles because leveling up and getting upgrades for your characters is so far and few in between, unless you want grind for a full 2 weeks or more. Maybe have items where you get buffs for stronger attacks or added defense. Dont get me wrong, I love this game but its starting to feel more like luck than strategy. I like a challenge but once it starts to becoming stupid hard and I stop having fun, Im done. Tower of Deity... Errr I hate this stage.

Really cute, long story

I dont play this game all of the time but when I do it is charming. A typical match-3 game but with a strategy involved. And with no in app purchases to bother you it is more than worth the money just for the charming little story.

I liked it so much I beat it 3 times

This game is really fun, and is the right amount of difficulty. I never had an issue with the "grinding" aspect because it didnt exist. Theres side quests, multiple endings, and a lot to experiment with. Best paid game Ive played.
